Waffles can be a perfect ´in-between´ meal. A perfect treat for kids when they come hungry home from school or even as a breakfast. The trick is to make a healthy dough and top the waffle with nutritional rich toppings like chia jam, fruits and berries heart emoticon
Try this easy but still healthy waffle dough recipe: Start by blending all dry ingredients together in a bowl; add the eggs, the milk and water and lastly the oil/butter and stir everything together. Bake the waffles in a waffle iron and enjoy with your favorite topping; jam, whipped cream, fruits, berries, chocolate or other favorites. You can also top it with butter and favorite cheese and eat like a bread (but then you might want to skip the banana and vanilla/cinnamon)
I often make my own chia seed jam. It is easy to make and does not contain any sugar, other than the easy digested sugar from the fresh fruits and berries that I use in my recipes.
I also make whipped cream out of coconut milk or just use the regular cream and whip it good 🙂 .
What makes a good waffle great, is to top it with a good quality jam, favorite whipped cream and lots and lots of sweet and sour fruits and berries. This combination between the sweet and sour does not only indulge your taste-buds and give a positive mind, but also makes magic for your overall well-being, filling every cell in your body with most needed antioxidants!
Enjoy ❤
