Beetroots, or beets as they are often called, are great liver detoxifier. The substance Betaine in beets activates and encourages the liver cells to get rid of toxins. Beets are also filled with antioxidants that will help protecting your cell´s from free radical damage. They purify the blood and studies have shown that beetroots, can lower high blood pressure and improve athletic performance by improving muscle oxygenation while exercising.
Recipe for two:
- 2 big or 3-4 small beets
- 3 red apples
- 2-3 cm ginger root
- A thick slice of organic lemon with zest (ca 1,5-2 cm)
- Peel the beets and cut them into smaller pieces, that fit into your juicer.
- Cut the apples and the lemon in smaller pieces.
- Juice everything through your juicer.
