If you are struggling to get your kids to eat healthy, just jam all kinds of goodies in their morning smoothie. That way you know in your heart that they have at least started the day right ❤
It is so easy to make a good tasting smoothie and still fill it with greens, seeds and other healthy stuff that your kids might not like on its own
It took me approximately 2 minutes to make the smoothies on the picture this morning. How did I do it?
I mixed in a blender:
Don´t have vanilla extract? That´s totally fine, just skip it or use cinnamon instead. Cinnamon is a great blood sugar stabilizer, that can help your kids not to crave sweets during the day.
You want to add greens? You can absolutely add greens to this blend and it will still taste great, but it might not look as great – red strawberries and green greens tend to make a boring brownish color. The question is if the color will affect your kids. If you skip the strawberries and use for example frozen mango or pineapple, a little lemon with zest and a hint of ginger, you will get a well tasting, beautiful healthy green smoothie.
Almond milk is filled with calcium that the body can easily use as a building material, it is also filled with the wonder vitamin – D.
Almond milk is a perfect milk alternative for people with diabetes and heart problems, because it is very blood sugar friendly and does not contain cholesterol.
Almond milk makes this smoothie very filling, but if you want it to keep you fuller longer, add ½ an avocado and a little more liquid to it.
The flax seeds are filled with omega-3, fibers and other powerful ingredients. It is perfect food for growing kids, both for their bodies and brain. If you are having problems with the digestion, I recommend flax seed for you. Also if you have to high cholesterol, blood pressure or dry hair or nails – a tablespoon or two a day will do wonders for you.
