Small amount of salt is essential for our health, but many of us consume far more than the body needs, putting us at risk of many health problems. Some of the problems that can occur with to high salt consumption is; high blood pressure, osteoporosis, coronary heart disease, asthma, diabetes, kidney stones/disease and obesity.
Food without salt might lack the desired taste we are used to, because salt enhances the flavor in food. That is one of the reason why we (and the food companies) use more salt than recommended.
I believe most of us should lower our salt intake. A lot of salt is used in many products we buy, more than you can imagine. By consuming less salt, we will learn to enjoy the real taste of the food we eat.
The advice that I am about to share, might help you lessen your salt consumption, without losing the taste in your food, but instead increase its nutrition and even make it tastier.
The recipe is easy, blend together;
- sea salt or Himalayan salt
- sesame seeds, which have a delicious nutty and salty taste
Blend in the ratio of 50/50. Use this blend the same way as you use salt and in the same amount. Never use table salt in your food.
The sesame seeds are loaded with vitamins like Niacin, Folate and vitamin-A and essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper, iron, phosphorus and zink. They are also especially rich in mono-unsaturated fatty acid called oleic acid, which is very helpful in lowering LDL cholesterol (sometimes called the bad cholesterol) and increasing HDL cholesterol (sometimes called the good cholesterol) in the blood. And the seeds have a large amount of antioxidants, which fight free radicals in the body and thereby strengthen your immune system.
Try this blend, increase the nutrition in your food, without losing its taste and enjoy being healthier, happier you.
Enjoy!
