If you have been experiencing some health challenges or lack of energy lately, the road back to energy, health and well being will call for some lifestyle changes. The lifestyle changes may concern changes in your diet, in your mental attitude, in the quality of your sleep, how you think or in your exercise routine. Making changes in these patterns can be a roller coaster ride and can take some time to get used to.
The road to health don’t happen overnight. It can take years, if not centuries for the body to get out of balance. That is why a patience, discipline and focus is needed while the body is build up again.
Be ready to face some challenges on your journey.
Decide what you need to change, make a plan how to and with discipline and positive mental attitude follow your plan. Start with a short term goal and after reaching your first 2-3 short term goals, you have trained your discipline muscle and are ready to make long term goals. Remember to encourage yourself to keep your promise through all the obstacle that will be in your way – and trust me, you will be challenged on your journey.
You will be challenged with many things like, not being able to train on a day you decided to, or not being able to go early to bed as you promised yourself. Or you might experience challenging symptoms, sometimes called the healing crisis, where your headache is so severe that you have a hard time keeping up your good habits. Just know, that these “not always so pleasant” symptoms, can be a natural and normal part of your healing journey. It is actually a positive sign, your body is expelling toxins from different parts of the body. So instead of taking a paracetamol for your headache or other pain you might be experiencing, or put a steroid cream on the eczema that you haven’t had for years, but all of a sudden showed up again, just keep going. Trust that these symptoms are a part of the healing crisis and will disappear soon.
The body is changing its chemistry, cleansing the blood and other systems of the body and getting rid of underlying problems. Give it 3-5 days and sometimes a little more. Keep up the good work and before you know it, you will feel the change in your energy level. Of course you should always use your common sense when you work on yourself and if you really feel like something is not as it should be, visit your doctor and get his opinion.
